Show unread channels only

In the official Slack app, there's an option to hide channels without any new messages

Would be great to have this in Shrugs.

Sounds like a reasonable request. Maybe add a filtering row at the sidebar bottom, similar to what Xcode does.

A feature I must not forget in the context is keeping the selected conversations open even if they are read. That also produces a bug in DMs (DM opened, appears, marked read automatically, disappears).
