also i did a test with invoke so 1 question? how to use diffusers from another location like an invoke install? or huggingface itself on install/wiki of yours it says you can but not how. i'd assume there was a standard setup meaning the invoke folders should have been detected? -------if you had an----- 2 question? they also have a method to convert stuff to diffusers, how can we use those as well?

sd.next crashing my system downloading from huggingface and i not reproducing that...lol as well as the same as that other post with crashing at vae side note... i think i am and are on something related to the crashes but will share what invoke created tomorrow. |

download does not require any deep system interaction, its general requests calls. and thats all in user-mode, not running with any kind of elevated priviledges - there is no way that can cause a full system crash unless there is something veeeery wrong with the entire system. even corrupt python would not cause that. and i still don't even know what your system is - that's why i asked 4-5 times so far to be specific. i'm assuming windows only because you mentioned bsod.
tainted during which download process? model download is just data, there are no executables downloaded. |

you yourself quoted hf_hub tool - well, that's the tool used for download from huggingface and that is the format expected.

this is what invokeai downloaded? omg thats wasteful - this is a raw repo clone and what authors typically do is put multiple variants of the model in the repo so user can choose which to use. right now you have 3 copies of a model! what sdnext normally does is download what it needs and creates a local cache - thats why you see different structure. but ok, i've just added experimental support for this in latest commit to dev branch. |

sdnext never in any way modifes what user downloaded. it can either use it or not.
i get where you're going, but its only a question of time when someone would pick wrong thing and delete stuff they didn't want and blame sdnext.
yes, but you have 3 copies of it:
and in case of some models, there may be 7-8 variations in the same folder. total waste as you only need one. |

that's cleaner, but completely unnecessary. why convert at all? diffusers were unable to deal with single-file safetensors in 2021 and conversion was necessary. but we're in 2024 and it "just works" (I worked with diffusers team on that). |

how to use diffusers from another location like an invoke install
using the sdnext interface to download huggingface diffusers crashed my system each time
tried invoke huggingface download and everything was fine, so how do i use the diffusers i got thru that system?
they also have a method to convert stuff to diffusers, how can we use those as well?
tried pointing at there folders but nothing.
also on my forth clean install of sd.next, it doesnt even recognize the hugging face files it made on the third try.
