Environment (please complete the following information):

  • OS: MAC OS 14.5 Sonoma
  • Winery version: latest v2.0.3
  • Master Wrapper version: latest 3.0.4
  • Engine version: latest WS12WineCX64Bit23.7.1 , WS12WineWhisky-2.3.2
  • Hardware: Macbook Pro 14 inch M1 max
  • Application/Game Name : Path of Exile
  • Render used: D3DMetal enabled DirectX 12

Describe the bug
Crash after update to wrapper 3.0.4

To Reproduce
After download of game package , all black ,nothing shows game crashed,

I’ve only ever had this game working with DXVK

Try to replace framework from wrapper 3.0.3
And it works again with both engine
Seems should be compatabilty issue with wrapper 3.0.4

Work wirh dx12 mode by changing /My Games /Path of Exile/production_Config.ini in documents folder

@wsctomy I’ve confirmed this game has issues with D3DMetal-v2.0b1 & D3DMetal-v2.0b2.

Wineskin-3.0.6 was downgraded to D3DMetal-v1.1.

Was there any reason for playing the using the Windows client when there’s a native macOS client?

It works with d3dmetal v1.1

Using windows client since the native client is bad in performance

Fps drops to below 10 when the quanity of monster increase/ playing with projectile builds

With windows clients , the lowest fps is about 25-30, which is more playable

I can confirm the same thing, I was also playing with WS12WineWhisky-2.3.2, and it works much better than the native client.

hi, @myorek is poe 3.25 runable on WS12WineWhisky-2.3.2 in mac, could you teach how to make it work?

@theothersideofgod the new patch seems to have broken the game under wine, also while I provide WS12WineWhisky-2.3.2 I don't provide support for Whisky itself nor do I provide support for the Engine itself.

The only reason WS12WineWhisky-2.3.2 exists is to make comparisons between WS12WineWhisky-2.3.2 & WS12WineCX64Bit22.1.1 simpler.

@theothersideofgod it works fine through Wineskin now. Whisky doesn't work at the moment.

Create a wrapper and make sure to set up Path of Exile after installation to render with DirectX12

I had this situation only when the POE renderer was set to Vulcan (default I think).

Find production_Config.ini for your installation and change the renderer, that should do the trick
