Session

The Session panel stores information specific to the current experimental session and includes the following fields:

  • Subject ID: this popup menu is populated by the names of folders found within the directory currently specified under the Data directory field of the User panel. Additionally, it contains the option "Add subject". Selecting this option will ask the user to input a new subject ID, and will create a new directory by that name in the Data directory.
  • Date: today's date will automatically appear here and cannot be edited. A fresh SCNI_Toolbar window should therefore be opened each day.
  • Experiment: this popup menu is populated by the names of .m files found within the directory currently specified under the Experiment directory field of the User panel. Pressing the Play button in the Actions panel will launch whichever experiment m-file is currently selected here. M-files with the word 'settings' in will not be listed in the popup menu, but can be launched separately via the Settings button in the Actions panel.
  • Run: this is the current run number. It is determined automatically by checking how many .mat files for the currently selected experiment type already exist in the directory for the current session. It can be overridden by typing a number. If a .mat file for the typed run number already exists for the current session then this field will appear red as an alert.
