  1. Make sure all unit and regression tests pass both on a local machine and Travis
  2. Make sure the manual is updated for all of the changes
  3. Update the 'version' and 'version_changes' files
  4. Release the update on GitHub
  5. Create a new Docker image
  6. Post a release message on the mailing list/forum
  7. Post instructions for updating apps from the previous version on the mailing list/forum
